Ulric' POV

"I am truly sorry Leilani but let's break up" I said the words I never wanted to say to her but I had to, I love Julian and this is not fair to her or Julian. She is a wonderful woman who brightens up the room when she is around. I thought I would fall for her with time but I didn't. 

" What?" She questioned shocked,eyes wide but their wasn't hurt at all, in fact her eyes were lit. I was confused when her lips pulled in to a grin slamming the table softly while looking around the restaurant taping her nails on the table. I wish I can know What was going on in her head.

" I don't love you Leilani, I am so sorry" I put her hands in mine trying to comfort her. I feel guilty about this. I am the one who kneeled on one knee and asked her hand in marriage and I am the one breaking it. I am such a jerk but if I had met Julian earlier this wouldn't have happened. I wouldn't be breaking this woman's heart.

" I know" she replied with a grin still plastered on her lips " I don't love you either lord Ulric" she got up pulling me in to a tight hug, relief on her face and I was surprised by this. I thought she would cry, weep or trash this table but non of it happened. She seemed to be happy- by this.

" I don't get it" I whispered to her as she pulled away from the hug sitting back down  leering at me with a smile on her lips.

" I am sorry lord Ulric but all this made me happy, you breaking up with me. Oh shit I am so fuckin happy" she beamed in excitement. I never thought Leilani could swear, the way she handles herself was out of this country and hearing her swear now was indeed a surprise to me. She is a decent lady.

" I am in love with someone else sir Ulric, you breaking up with me means I can be with him" she said amused " I know you're confused about this but  let me explain  what was happening" she sighed trying not to grin but failed miserably as a blush creeped on her face.

" I'm listening"

" My father thinks I'm getting old since I have taken long without getting married and he doesn't like my um the man I am in love with so he forced me to seduce you therefore you can fall in love with me and ask my hand in marriage. My father is an ambitious man, he likes to be on top every time therefore me marrying you would mean he gets the power too since you know you're the leader of vampires" I nodded listening. " I didn't like the idea at all because you know I don't love you but he forced me telling me that if I get married to you and get pregnant with your first heir that will do for him and that child would help him get where he wants. That's being on top and he will get a chance to live in the castle. He loves power" I was shocked by what I was hearing. I always thought lord Castellan was a different man from all the greedy vampires but I guess I was wrong.

"I refused because I- all I wanted was to be with my man but he told me if I get you to marry me and give you your first child then I will divorce you and go to the love of my life" I gasped at that.

" You went ahead with the plan" I asked lowly.

"At first yes but when I got to know you, you're not the person I expected to meet, you were different, loving, caring therefore I decided to end it with my um boyfriend and decided to take my fate to be with you even though I still love him so much, I decided to make father happy" Leilani says with sadness in her eyes.

" You shouldn't have let your father decide for you" I sighed shaking my head in disbelief.

" I know but he is my father. I love him and I was willing to be in a loveless marriage because of him. I can do anything for him, he was always there for me when mom ran away and it kinda of my fault for her to leave us and I wanted to get my father the one thing he wanted but now if I tell him that you broke off the marriage yourself then he won't force me" she sighed deeply looking away from me.
